Amanda will be discussing the discovery, research and interpretation of Woodhenge since it was first spotted from the air in December 1925. It was excavated by Maud Cunnington and has been the focus of new research over the last 20 years which has relied upon her meticulous standards of excavation and publication.
Dr Amanda Chadburn FSA FSAScot is an archaeologist and historic environment adviser. She started her career in local government and moved to English Heritage/ Historic England where she worked for over 35 years until 2022, holding various roles. These included Inspector of Ancient Monuments, Team Leader SW Region, Lead Adviser for the Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site and various national policy roles.
